My grandma is called Maria Dolores but everyone calls her Lolita. She’s 95 years old which have allowed her to discover the world and put together an amazing hats collection. She’s got 57 to be precise, currently hanging all the way up the stairs in her house. In August 2022 we spent 4 days shooting trying to document some of the best pieces in the collection. Then I worked with my friend David del Valls to put together a fanzine. I transcripted our phone calls and used them to narrate the story of the collection. I sourced postcards she sent from abroad to some of her grandchildren as well as some old images of the house. She was absolutely thrilled to see the result during our Christmas celebrations.
